It depends. I know, not a definitive answer. Your mandolin's price will depend on selection of materials and options. As you may already know, hardware such as tuners, can vary greatly in price. Crazy-figured wood ain't cheap either. You get the idea. All that said, you can plan to spend way less than that used F5-G that you've been eyeing on that resale website.
You're right, I could ask more for what I create. At the moment, what's more important to me is to get Hollister mandolins into the hands of those who love to play. Making them quite a bit more affordable will hopefully help with that goal.
The YouTube button at the bottom of each page will take you to the Hollister Stringed Instruments page. There you'll find videos of past builds with audio and pictures of the instrument being played. Check back occasionally as I will be adding more videos in the future.
No. Let's talk about what you want in a custom-to-you mandolin!
Absolutely! I offer all my customers the opportunity to play their mandolin in-the-white so that any refinements can be made before color and finish are applied.
Yes, it does. I provide a warranty for each mandolin that I make to the original owner. Details upon request.
That's my cat. His name is Monroe. Yes, named after the Father of Bluegrass. In some ways, his personality is similar to that of Mr. Bill.
